Waiting

Waiting around knowing the end is in sight
Planning out what to say just right

Holding on to every moment
Getting every last kiss
Knowing full well this is something I am truly going to miss

I can see in you that you’ll miss me
And a part of me is counting on that
I’d like to think after all this that you’d want me back

I know once that you’re gone, you’re gone
And that I won’t be able to look back
I have to watch you leave me
And learn to be ok with that

I’m tired of doing the right things
Equally tired of being wrong
Sick of hearing what doesn’t kill you makes you strong

For once my heart and head agree
And think I should do what’s right for me

I don’t want to say goodbye to you
I don’t want this to end
But I know I will so you can be happy in the end.
